
Professional Experience
Angela is a Consultant in our Family Team. Angela is dual accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in Family Law and as a Mediator, as well as being certified by the Law Society of Scotland as a Trauma-Informed Solicitor. Angela is a Member of the Curator ad litem and Reporting Officers panel. She is also appointed by the court as Financial Guardian including guardianship applications by the local authority and by clients of other law firms. Angela is also a trained collaborative lawyer. Angela has a Certificate in Forensic Medicine and Science from the University of Edinburgh.
During her career, Angela has undertaken civil litigation and criminal defence work in the Sheriff Court, Court of Session and High Court of Justiciary respectively. She has been instructed by individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds as well as businesses and charities. Her background in civil litigation and employment law, coupled with her commercial acumen, is a significant advantage to clients whose issues for resolution involve the valuation and division of business interests.
Angela has a complex caseload covering a broad range of issues including high value financial separations and divorces, which involve complex asset structures, business interests and international property, as well as high conflict child related matters involving international relocation, residence and contact. Angela has been instructed in child law cases in which there have been allegations of criminality and criminal court proceedings including offences of domestic abuse, violence and sexual offences. Her background in criminal defence work is advantageous to clients whose cases involve elements of criminality or alleged criminality.
Angela understands the importance of getting it right for every client based on their individual circumstances, priorities and objectives. She recognises that it is imperative that clients feel listened to and get value for money. Angela endeavours to find creative and practical solutions which focus on meeting client objectives, delivering pragmatic and constructive advice in an empathetic and straight-forward manner which presents clients with a clear route forward.
