Initially, my appeal appeared to have very little chance of success. I often felt down and unenthusiastic about the case, but Karen’s eagerness certainly inspired me to keep fighting. In fact, Karen could see that I was unmotivated and negative, and was often forced to become a motivational speaker to convince me to keep going.

Karen reviewed a lot of material in relation to this case and went to great efforts to fully understand the fine detail. Her diligence identified a number of procedural failings by the University which allowed the case to be won.

I am particularly impressed by how sensitively and empathetically she handled speaking to my Mum, who was rather emotional. Yet, she was also firm when she could hear the enthusiasm disappear from my voice, and after few motivational words I would feel reenergised.
